When to Use It

This gauge is the right tool for the job after any of the following: belt replacement, belt tension adjustment, rear wheel removal or repair. If your bike runs a drive belt, this gauge belongs in your toolkit.

How to Use It

1. Position the small O-ring over the 10 lb mark on the gauge.
2. Place the U-shaped belt stand against the bottom of the belt at a 90° angle. Note the position of the large O-ring as a reference point and record the reading.
3. Push upward on the rubber bumper until the small O-ring contacts the bottom of the tool body.
4. Realign the large O-ring to the reference point. The difference between the two readings is your belt deflection value.

Compare your result against your motorcycle manufacturer's specified belt deflection range to confirm correct tension.
